Favorite Advanced Biology Web Sites:  These sites are great for help with content

The Biology Project: Great Animations, quizzes and guided learning.

Cellcraft: This is a great way to review the parts of the cell

Cell Staining Tool:  This is a tool from Invitrogen (Life Technologies) that allows the selection of organelle specific stain to highlight an organelle or structure in the cell.

California Institute for Regenerative Medicine: This is the efforts that California is funding to develop Stem Cell treatments.

The Biology Place: Great Place to study and take practice quizzes in preparation for our quizzes and exams.  Links to the resources that come with the Campbell Biology Text.

Primers in Biology: This site is part of the Biomed Central Webiste.  They have summaries of core biological principals.  Good PDF versions as well.

Animations:  This a great site for many animations across all subject areas

Dept of Justice DNA Training Program: This site is part of the President's DNA initiative for Advancing Justice Through DNA Technology

Genetics Learning Center: This web site is from the Genetics Learning Center at the University of Utah.  There are many tutorials and animations that review basic concepts and some advanced concepts as well.

Genetics Education Center: This site is wonderful for links to all aspects of Genetics.  Many of the links are older, but the site is a wealth of information.  Even the links at the bottom.  The person webmaster for the site is a Genetic Counselor.

DNA Learning Center: This is a web site that has great animations (PCR, DNA Sequencing, Southern Blotting, etc...).  It also has the Sequence Server.  This allows for Mitochondrial DNA sequence comparisons between human vs human, human vs animal, human vs. Romanof etc...

National Center for Biotechnology Information: This is a data base of all known biotech information. Nucleotide similarities, etc..  Blast-n is used to look for nucleotide similarities.  Online Medelian Genetics in Man (O.M.I.M.) and other resources are also part of this site.

National Human Genome Research Institute: This site has a wonderful CD that is online that has breat resources on the Human Genome Project and new projects that are related.

CSU Bioweb: This is a collection of websites that will meet just about any need you have.  Just select the topic and go!

Access Excellence: This is a website that was designed to help Life Science Teachers.  There are great graphics and visuals to help students understand concepts.

Leaf Anatomy: This site is great for looking at leaf cross sections and the adaptations to life in water or very dry conditions.

Exploratorium Image Gallery: Urchin Embryology and other Microscopy Images from the Exploratorium

Liver Sinusoid and Kupfer cell function: This site reviews basic function

The Arctic Council: This is a webpage of the Arctic Council that is charged with the study of the arctic environmental issues.

NOAA Arctic Study: This page is the site for Arctic DATA that has been generated and compiled by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration.
